Aplication Chitosan Modified Carboxymethyl as Antibacterial Agent of Paper Packaging

Chitosan and chitosan modified carboxymethyl were used to enhance performances of paper packaging. 1.0 wt% solutions with concentrations 0.25; 0.5 manually applied on surface using dip coating method. Effects coatings antibacterial properties the investigated. The antimicrobial activity against gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus) gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli) was found be enhanced when solution entrapped within paper. Further coated has higher againt S. aureus rather than E. coli.
